Oklahoma City Thunder vs Utah Jazz takes place on Wednesday night in the NBA 2013 regular season in a match up taking place in the Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City. The game will tip off at 9 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Thunder will be without Russell Westbrook tonight as they attempt to get their season off to the perfect start tonight as they go on the road to the Jazz, who are currently in the process of rebuilding things in Utah.
The Thunder will be confident coming into this season, having finishing top of the Western Conference last season. However, at the same time they will know what a big loss Westbrook is. Last season their playoff hopes were left shattered after Westbrook was lost to a knee injury against the Houston Rockets. They did manage to scrape through against the Rockets in that instance but they struggled badly against the Memphis Grizzlies in the next round and were eliminated.
In a huge blow to the Thunder, it looks as though Westbrook will miss the first month of the new season. That means Kevin Durant will have to take up a lot more of the responsibility, and he will be pivotal in how the Thunder start off their campaign this year.
Durant has said coming into this game: "We're very confident that we can (win the championship). We're not going to come in and say, 'We can't win it all, we don't have enough.' We're a confident group of guys."
He added, "We feel we're in a good position. That's all that really matters. If we come in here thinking we lost momentum or anything like that, that will mess us up. So, we just try to focus on each and every day and we'll be fine."
