Oklahoma Teacher Arrested for Manufacturing Child Pornography
A former Oklahoma teacher was arrested after allegedly photographing third and fourth grade girls in lingerie at a Christmas party at her home.
Kimberly Crain, a 47-year-old former third grade teacher, was booked into Pottawatomie County jail after investigators recovered deleted images from her phone showing the young girls in holiday-themed bras and panties, posing suggestively.
Crain is facing charges of manufacturing child pornography and performing lewd acts with a child, according to District Attorney Richard Smothermon. She is to be arraigned Friday and he plans to request $1 million bail.
"We recovered pictures showing the children in bras and panties and in poses that can only be described as sexual in nature," said Smothermon, according to Newsok.com. "We also found on the cellphone images unrelated to the Christmas party which show underage children in sexual poses, which are really graphic."
Crain had been a third grade teacher at McCloud elementary school for five years when she resigned on Monday after some of the girls told their parents what had happened and the authorities were notified. She allegedly invited six girls, ranging from ages 7 to 9 for a pizza party at her house and forced them to put on the lingerie and pose while decorating a Christmas tree. Video footage was also taken of the girls dancing in their underwear.
Detectives have seized all computers and recording devices from Crain's home, and the FBI is now reviewing all data files to see if any federal charges can be brought against her.
The families have filed a civil suit against both Crain and her husband, though it is not known what role, if any, he played in the incident.
"They had their trust shattered in a teacher I think they really did like," attorney Joe Vorndran, who is representing the parents of the young girls, told Koco.com.
One of the third-grade girls also told police that Crain has had all the students in her class chat with an older man named "Uncle G" over the computer through Skype. Suggestive pictures of the girls taken at the school were also found on Crain's phone. The girls posed on desks and chairs.
