Olivia Newton-John's Home A Crime Scene After Contractor's Suicide

Olivia Newton-John and her husband John Easterling were out of town when a man committed suicide in their Florida home on Monday, Aug. 19.

Reports indicated that an unidentified man killed himself with a gun outside of the actress' Jupiter Inlet Colony house.

Jupiter Police Department spokesman Sgt. Scott Pascarella said that the victim is not related to Newton-John or her husband, and did not live in the residence, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Furthermore, Newton-John and Easterling had hired the suicide victim as a contractor, reported Us Weekly,

"The deceased is a 42-year-old white male, hired as a contractor by the residents… We'll be releasing his identity subsequent to the outcome of the autopsy," said Pascarella.

On Monday, police were called to the Newton-John home at around noon. Officials are handling the incident as a death investigation and had a medical examiner at the scene, but do not think that foul play was involved, according to Sky News.

The property is up for sale, and contractors had reportedly been working on it before the incident.

Earlier this month, Rosie O'Donnell was under contract to buy the mansion for $5.6 million, according to Gossip Extra.

Other Jupiter, Fl. residents include Tiger Woods and Burt Reynolds.

Meanwhile, Newton-John is best known for her role in 1978's hit film "Grease" alongside John Travolta. Some of the singer's most popular songs include, "You're The One That I Want" and "Physical," to name a few.

The death of the Florida man at Newton-John's home on Monday is not the only tragedy she 64-year-old has faced in recent years.

In 1992, Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer, but after a partial mastectomy, the actress recovered and has been cancer-free for more than a decade.

Moreover, in 2005, Newton-John's boyfriend at the time Patrick McDermott went missing while on a fishing trip. The actress, who was in Australia at the time of McDermott's disappearance, was never a suspect and refused to comment, according to the Mirror U.K.

Then, back in May, Newton-John's sister Rona succumbed to brain cancer.
