OMF USA to Discuss Asia Mission at September Conference

Overseas Missionary Fellowship (OMF) USA is planning to organize a special conference directed to address the ongoing mission in Asia.
The "Heart for Asia" Conference in New England, scheduled for Sept. 24, will review in detail the mission, the biblical teaching, and the fellowship in Asia. Strategic times for specific prayer topic will also be determined.
In addition, a team composed of students from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary will also be present to facilitate the objectives of the conference. The team completed its fourth annual summer project focusing on ethnographic research in Asia. Their findings will assist the current and future missionaries to gain deeper understand of their respective regions.

Giving a keynote address at the conference will be OMF US National Director Dr Neil Thompson. Other speakers at the "Heart for Asia" conference include Mark Bradley, Director of Mobilization for OMF US and a former church planting missionary in Japan; Dr. Barb Hopwood, a professor of Christian education, theological English, hermeneutics and spiritual disciplines at Rantepao Theological Seminary in Indonesia for 10 years.
Founded in 1865 by James Hudson Taylor as the China Inland Mission, OMF International still continues to serve East Asia through mobilizing and equipping Asian churches for world mission by pursuing evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and youth ministry.
This year, OMF International celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founder's death on June 3 and the 140th anniversary of the ministry on June 25.
