'Once Upon A Time' Season 5 News: LGBT Couple Revealed

The most recent episode "Once Upon A time" had just presented a milestone for the series, as well as television.

The creators of the series Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis have been teasing fans about the upcoming new romance for the series. They had announced that the series will soon be exploring its first LGBT couple in the current season.

This had fans speculating that Mulan, played by Jamie Chung, and Aurora, played by Sarah Bolger, will be the ones sharing a romance in the upcoming episodes. Ever since their introduction, it was stated that fans already felt the chemistry between them.

However, the most recent episode of the series proved otherwise. It turns out that the LGBT romance was not between Mulan and Aurora. With that, fans saw Ruby, played by Megan Ory, and Dorothy, played Teri Reeves share a kiss in the episode titled "Ruby Slippers."

The episode showed how the two got to know each other. Fans saw that they first met when Ruby was hunting for her pack. She encountered Dorothy, who she ended up saving from a curse. Later, the two were seen kissing in front of the munchkins.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Horowitz explained that this was in important part of the series, and was also long overdue. He said, "True love's kiss has been a staple of this show since the beginning. This past Sunday's episode was just another example of how in fairy tale, as in life, love is love."

In addition, he also explained that it was a vital move toward their mission as writers. He said, "Our goal is to make it as we see it in the real world, just as normal and as a part of every day life as it should be."

"Once Upon A Time" Season 5 airs on ABC Sunday nights.
