'Once Upon a Time' season 5 spoilers and updates: Henry to take on more responsibilities

What will happen to the show now that the hero becomes the villain? This is what fans are now asking and hoping to see in season 5 after the big finale last season.

At the end of season 4, fans saw Emma (Jennifer Morrison) sacrificing herself, and became the Dark One, just to save Storybrooke again. It's the hero that needs saving now, and Emma's family, Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), Henry (Jared S. Gilmore), and even her one-time enemy, Regina (Lana Parrilla), will join together to free her from being evil.

This season, fans will see Henry grow from being a teenager into a man. Emma usually takes care of Henry, but he will be seen this season stepping up, in order to bring Emma back to goodness. According to the show's creator, Edward Kitsis, in his interview with Yahoo! TV, he said that Henry is now ready to "take on more responsibilities." Kitsis also teased that Henry will now grow a crush on someone this season.

Fans will also see Once Upon a Time characters travel to one of the most mystical places in the storybook world, Camelot, to find Merlin. "We always loved the idea of Merlin," Kitsis said. "It's fun to have the Round Table and to see King Arthur with Prince Charming," he explained when asked what will happen once the characters meet.

The show's other creator, Adam Horowitz, said that they will also bring Merida from "Brave" this season. "We've always had strong women who are equally comfortable in a ball or in a sword fight. I think Merida exemplifies all those characteristics," said Kitsis.

The showrunners also promised to bring back an old character, Ruby/Red Riding Hood (Meghan Ory). Ruby will appear for a few episodes this season to appease the fans that missed her.

Once Upon a Time will premiere on Sept. 27 on ABC.
