'Once Upon a Time' Season 5 Spoilers: Is Rumplestiltskin Storybrooke's New Hero?

As fans of "Once Upon a Time" already know, Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) has already come out of his coma, and while his awakening with a new heart and soul is quite a twist for the famed villain, some fans are happy about the path that he can probably take in the long run.

According to TV Line, with the change of heart that Rumple is going through, Belle (Emilie de Ravin) is on the rise and "gets stronger" in the new season, as revealed by series co-creator Eddy Kitsis. While she has rushed to Rumple's bedside immediately after the rose disclosed about the villain's awakening, she is distressed to find Rumple already gone.

The co-creator also said Belle will surely search for Rumple and is 100 percent sure that Emma (Jennifer Morrison) is behind his disappearance. Since Rumple is at a "blank slate," he will most probably be helpless since he has lost all his magic. However, the producer noted that "He carries the wisdom of everything he's gone through." This could mean that he will have be torn between two worlds.

Meanwhile, Emma has other plans on her mind, and though the "Dark Swan" is looking for a "pure heart" to help her get Excalibur from its stone, some speculate that her side of the "Dark One" could make a way to get Rumple back to where he once was as a staple villain.

On the other hand, there is a huge possibility that Rumple could turn out to be the "purest" hero in all of Storybrooke. Mr. Gold has been a hindrance at some point to the good-hearted people in town, but rumor has it that this time, he has a clean shot at redemption.

Zap2It pointed out that Rumple's now clean heart will only get more interesting and could be one of the biggest breakthroughs in the show's history when it comes to villains since Mr. Gold has always tried his hardest from the start to be on the good side.

While there are so many other things that production could do to his character, fans will just have to keep watching "Once Upon a Time" every Sunday at 8 p.m. on ABC to find out if Rumple will become a true hero in the end.
