'Once Upon a Time' Season 5 Spoilers: New Villain to Join Cast?

As tension continues to rise in Storybrooke, a new villain is rumored to join the cast and is said to emerge from the deepest corners of the earth in season 5 of "Once Upon a Time."

Emma (Jennifer Morrison) is already spreading her influence as she is portrayed as "The Dark One," and as if her mean streak is not enough, spoilers reveal that another villain is on the rise in the form of the "Devil."

According to TV Line, the producers are looking to cast a "mysterious, dangerous, and vindictive God-like figure known obscurely as 'Distinguished Gentleman' or 'DG.'" The outlet adds that it shouldn't come as a surprise if the next villain to throw mayhem in Storybrooke is someone very close to the Devil since co-creator Eddy Kitsis described part of season 5 in one word: hell.

Since the outlet used the word "vindictive" in its description of the new villain, some watchers presume that this new character might not be so new. The character could either be a resurrection of one who was supposedly destroyed in the previous seasons or an entirely different and brand-new rogue who will set Storybrooke on fire.

Meanwhile, episode 5 airs tonight on ABC and fans are set to see poor Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) begging Emma to spare him from the dangers and consequences of extracting Excalibur from its stone.

Comic Book says The Dark One will get Merida to produce a hero out of the poor Mr. Gold, who now has a "pure heart." The villain-turned-protagonist will embark on a journey of being one worthy of becoming the hero that Emma needs for her own desires.

Elsewhere, Henry (Jared Gilmore) finally gets enough encouragement from his mother to step up and ask Violet (Olivia Steele Falconer) to go out with him. It's uncertain if the latter will say "yes," but fans will just have to get in front of their TV screens to see if a new couple will be born in Storybrooke.
