'One Piece' Spoilers: Manga Creator Eiichiro Oda Knows How To End The Series
Two decades after Eiichiro Oda released the first issue of "One Piece," the manga creator reportedly knows how he wants the series to end in the future.
According to the manga creator's recent interview with editor-in-chief Hiroyuki Nakano of the Weekly Shonen Jump, Oda still has no idea when the story of Monkey D. Luffy will conclude since its growing popularity caused it to extend longer than expected.
Nakano shared with Malay website Budak Getah as translated by Yonkou Productions that Oda attempted to end the story of the manga earlier, but it became impossible because of its popularity. This means that the story might have to be extended for a longer period.
However, when he asked Oda if he already knows the ending of the series, the manga creator admitted that he has an idea in mind although it may not be the final ending yet.
"According to Oda-sensei, I think he has a plot for the ending of One Piece," Nakano said in the translated interview. "And nobody knows what Oda-sensei has planned for the ending. That is all in Oda's head. And because the storyline of One Piece keeps on getting longer, the plot that Oda planned sometimes changes based on current events. It all depends on the situation."
Oda has yet to lay out his final plans for one of the most popular Japanese manga series.
In another report, the manga creator revealed in a recent magazine blurb that he really intended to make the design of both the "One Piece" anime and manga to look weird and stand out from the typical appearance of the other comic series.
He confessed that he received a lot of criticism when he was just starting to release "One Piece" in 1997. But his efforts are now paying off since it managed to catch the attention of the public.
"One Piece" is also featured in an anime series released by Production I.G.
