One Plus 5T Release Date News: Smartphone To Be Revealed Next Week; Event Tickets Now Available
After a number of information leaks, the Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus has finally confirmed the upcoming release of the OnePlus 5T as it announced an unveiling event for it set for next week in Brooklyn, New York.
In the official events page on the OnePlus website, the company posted the announcement for the OnePlus 5T launch event schedued for Thursday, Nov. 16, at 11 a.m. EST in New York.
The page does not show any hint of what the device will officially look like, but the event's official tagline - "A New View" - seems to corroborate earlier leaks that the upcoming smartphone will sport an edge-to-edge screen.
Meanwhile, OnePlus also announced on the same page that the OnePlus 5T "will be available" on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 9 a.m. EST. However, the company has yet to clarify whether the given date is for the opening of pre-orders or for the official retail release of the device.
Unveiling events are normally exclusive for journalists, technology bloggers, and internet personalities who can help get the word out about the new product.
However, OnePlus is changing this setup for the upcoming reveal of the OnePlus 5T and will open the affair to the general public. Those who want to be present for the occasion must pay a fee of $40 to get a ticket which OnePlus already started selling this Wednesday.
Meanwhile, OnePlus also confirmed that people attending the event in Brooklyn will be getting $70-worth of exclusive freebies, according to Android Police. However, the company did not specify the items that will included.
On the other hand, people who cannot be at Brooklyn can still watch the event as it happens via YouTube Live for free.
While OnePlus has yet to confirm other details about the OnePlus 5T, Tech Radar claimed they obtained "confidential documentation" that the upcoming device will be priced the same as its predecessor, the OnePlus 5, which costs $479 for the 64 GB storage variant.
