'One Punch Man' Season 2 Premiere to Be Announced Soon; Season 1 Now Streaming on Netflix
The official release date of "One Punch Man" season 2 may still be a mystery at this point, but fans who wish to refresh their memories of the popular anime series' first season can now do so thanks to online streaming site Netflix.
According to recent reports, the superhero parody series has just been made available on Netflix in both subbed and dubbed versions. This the perfect treat for fans who have been waiting for the anime's upcoming second season, which is rumored to air later this year.
"One Punch Man" pokes fun at the current superhero culture by telling the story of an unremarkably looking man named Saitama who aspires to be a superhero for fun. In order to accomplish this goal, he has trained hard for years until he lost all the hair on his head, and has now become quite possibly the strongest superhero on earth. But since he is able to destroy his enemies with just a single punch, he quickly becomes bored and is now continuously searching for an adversary who can withstand his first punch long enough to engage with him in an exciting battle.
His routine used to be simple: He goes out to the streets and eliminates every single creature that threatens to cause a mess, each time failing to find a worthy adversary. That is, until a cyborg named Genos crosses his path, asks to be his apprentice and eventually influences him to sign up with the Hero Association, where he is given an official superhero name, Caped Baldy.
And this is where the true challenge to his strength begins.
The anime series has since been renewed for a second season, which is expected to start airing later this year. A source speculated that "One Punch Man" season 2 could air in October since the first season was aired on the same month in 2015.
Predictions about the upcoming season's storyline include the insanely strong Saitama finally suffering his first defeat in the hands of Garou, the mysterious being dubbed as the Human Monster. Fans who also follow the manga series from which the anime was based also predict a possible romantic angle that could either incite Saitama's dark side or render him completely powerless.
An official announcement about season 2's air date is expected to be released soon.
