OnePlus 2 Vs. Microsoft Lumia 950: Battle of the Flagship Smartphones
The OnePlus 2 has been released in August by special invitation after its VR launch spurred excitement among fans.
It will soon be followed by the Microsoft Lumia 950 Windows 10 smartphone, which is expected on shelves in November.
In terms of display, the OnePlus 2 offers users a LTPS LCD capacitive touchscreen on its 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920-pixel display. Protected under Corning Gorilla Glass 4, it presents users with an Oxygen 2.1 user interface.
On the other hand, the Microsoft Lumia 950, which was recently unveiled in New York on October 6, presents a smaller 5.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 pixel density under Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
OnePlus 2 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and is powered by a quad-core 1.56 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC with an Andreno 430 GPU. The Lumia 950, when it becomes available, will run the new Microsoft Windows 10 mobile OS, and carry a dual-core 1.82 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, with a weaker Adreno 418 graphics card.
The Chinese tech manufacturer's second generation flagship is supported by two iterations of 3GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage, and 4GB of RAM with 64GB of in-house memory. On the other hand, when the Redmond, Washington's new flagship sells in the market, it will offer users 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, expandable to 200GB via microSD.
Camera-wise, the OnePlus 2 features a 13MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, laser autofocus, and optical image stabilization, as well as a 5MP front shooter. The Lumia 950, meanwhile, will sport a larger 20MP sensor, featuring Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, and optical image stabilization, plus a 5MP front snapper.
In terms of battery power, the OnePlus 2 has a non-removable 3300mAh battery, which trumps the Lumia 950's 3000mAh.
While only OnePlus 2 has a fingerprint sensor, the Lumia 950 supports Qi-enabled wireless charging, and both feature USB Type C ports for reversible connection.
The OnePlus 2 belongs to the mid-range category and is priced between $330 to $390, while the higher end Microsoft Lumia 950 is expected to cost around $549 when it is released in the market next month.
