Hearts Sounds International celebrates six years of successful projects
Heart Sounds International, sister ministry to Operation Mobilization, celebrates six years of successful missions in restrictive regions through worship and music.
"We're working in a lot of the restricted nations, and we go to a lot of places where it's difficult for the believers to either get to a recording studio, or it's dangerous for them to identify themselves as believers recording their worship songs, or they can't afford it,” said Heart Sounds’ Frank Fortunato.
Hearts Sounds enables local musicians to record their own songs, so that worship could follow outreach programs in the regions. Since 1997, the ministry helped record praise music in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, North Africa, Sudan, India, Mongolia, Bulgaria and in Central and South America.

The equipment provided through Hearts and Sounds includes monitor speakers, amplifier, synthesizer, 4-track Mini-disk recorder, audio mixer, mastering cassette deck, tape duplicator, software sequencer (recording), notation software, computer (MIDI) interface, effects (Reverb) unit, microphones, headphones, transformer, adapter plugs, cables, tape, and accessories – all of which could fit into several bags.
The teams not bring temporary mobile studios to the regions; they set up recording studios and train local leaders so they could subsist independently.
"In many of the places where we have gone, where we find that there are musicians who are capable of handling digital equipment, we will often bring in a complete recording studio and leave it behind for them to use for ongoing projects,” said Fortunato.
