Oppo A53 Release Date & Update: Device Certified by TENAA, Features 5.5-Inch Display, 13MP Camera

Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo is slated to release soon a new smartphone dubbed as the A53. According to  Venture Capital Post, the company is reported to reveal the said device soon as it has been certified already by TENAA, the telecommunications equipment certification center in China.

But until now, Oppo has remained silent regarding their new smartphone. No details have been released except for some few rumors and reports talking about it.

There are reports that have said that the upcoming handset may be a variant of the recently certified Oppo A53m. It's also known to be a bit higher-end than the A33, although it is not expected to come with flagship-quality specs.

According to Tech Times, TENAA described the Oppo A53 as a device with 5.5-inch IPS screen with a display resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. Weighing 165 grams, it is measured to be 8.03mm thick. Design-wise, GSM Arena noted that the A53 sports a look that has been seen in the past offerings from Oppo.

It is expected to come in two color variants, silver and gold. It is expected to sport a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera for selfies and video chats.

TENAA also detailed that the new smartphone will have under its hood an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz paired with 2 GB of RAM. It is likely to carry 16 GB of internal memory storage but it can be expanded up to 128 GB via the microSD card.

It is also anticipated to run with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop but it may be updated soon with latest Android OS, the 6.0 Marshmallow. The device also supports 4G LTE, Bluetooth, USB, GSM, WLAN, GPRS, EDGE, TD-LTE, and TD-SCDMA.

As of now, the price is still not known but considering its specifications and features, Oppo A53 is likely categorized under the mid-range tier. This also suggests that the smartphone will not be that expensive.
Oppo A53 is expected to arrive in China soon but no information has been released yet on whether it will also be sold in other countries.
