Oprah Winfrey Says Joel Osteen Interview to 'Change How We See Our Lives'
A preview for the upcoming "Oprah's Lifeclass" Oct. 28 episode featuring megachurh pastor Joel Osteen has host Oprah Winfrey promising viewers that the show will be life-changing.
"He reaches over 100 countries. One of America's favorite preachers comes to Lifeclass," a 30-second preview for the Oct. 28 show states. The program was taped on Oct. 5, but two weeks from now viewers will get to see Osteen's full appearance.
"You'll never rise any higher than the way you see yourself," the Texas Lakewood Church pastor says in the clip.
Oprah promotes the show by promising, "If you ever said: I am unhappy, I am broke, and fat – This is going to snap you out of it."
In front of an excited audience, she adds: "This is going to change the way we see our lives."
Osteen has recently been promoting his new book, I Declare: 31 Promises to Speak Over Your Life, and was featured in an interview with CNN's Soledad O'Brien, who pressed him on the topic of homosexuality and whether or not he believes it to be a sin. Like he has stated before in the past, Osteen affirmed that he believes that homosexuality was not "God's best," but noted that he did not "choose" to be heterosexual, and said that the church should not categorize sin.
Osteen is also the author of bestseller Everyday a Friday, and his weekly sermons bring together 43,000 Lakewood Church attendees and are broadcast to millions of people around the world. As an inspirational pastor, Osteen focuses his messages on how people can find fulfillment in their daily life through faith in God.
Winfrey also taped an interview with Pastor Rick Warren from Saddleback Church in California which will also be featured in an upcoming episode of "Oprah's Lifeclass", although the date it will be aired is not yet known.
