Oprah's Favorite Things 2013 Announced
Oprah Winfrey compiled her annual list of "Favorite Things" this week, just in time for holiday shopping.
The 57-year-old media mogul announced the unveiling of the famed list on Tuesday.
"They're here! It's my FAVORITE THINGS 2013," Winfrey posted to Twitter along with a link to Oprah.com for the full list of 60 items selected this year.
The "Favorites" list started as a segment on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" before the talk show host retired three years ago and formed her own network, OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network).
Many Christmas shoppers rely on Oprah's long-awaited list to help with gift-giving ideas during the holidays, and "Oprah's Favorite Things" include the exclusive must-have gifts of the season.
"This is the ultimate, ultimate list of my Favorite Things," Oprah said, according to the "O" website.
The list boasts gift-giving ideas ranging from "the whimsical stocking stuffer to the over-the-top indulgence."
For instance, this year, Winfrey introduced readers to products such as Sam Godfrey's "Present Cake" which features a sweet dessert covered in fondant resembling ribbon-wrapped gift, all for the price of $79.
Furthermore, Oprah's coveted list reveals the T-fal Actifry machine which allows users to quickly and easily fry foods by using far less oil than usual. The product costs $250.
"Anyone who follows me on Instagram knows that I went gaga over this gadget," Winfrey said on Oprah.com.
Other items found among "Oprah's Favorite Things 2013" include The High Tea Collection of nail polish by ButterLondon, monogrammed leather gloves by Logan Real, and modern, interesting-looking steak knives by Coltellerie Berti for Convivio Nuovo.
Each product includes a tagline from Oprah explaining a bit more of the possible gift, and sometimes, the media maven even reveals insight to her own holiday plans. For example, Winfrey referred to her friend Rita Wilson in the tagline for the $500 black-truffle risotto set with an engraved wooden box.
"It's my present for Rita this year," Winfrey wrote.

Meanwhile, this year's list seems to have fallen flat with a few readers, including Twitter user Katie who wrote, "Oprah's favorite things 2013 are too expensive for just mediocre things."
Also, Vanity Fair pointed out the "eight most fabulous out-of-touch recommendations" on the list this year.
Nevertheless, gift-giving around the holidays is believed to stimulate the economy, and the notorious shopping day following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, generates millions of dollars in sales each year.
