'Orange is the New Black' Season 4 Cast News, Update: Netflix Slams Rumors Of Caitlyn Jenner Joining the Jail Bird Drama
The rumors were rife last week saying that Caitlyn Jenner will be joining the cast of Netflix's hit comedy-drama series "Orange is the New Black" for its 4th season. However, new reports confirmed that this might not be true at all.
Earlier this month, it was heard on the streets that the celebrity formerly known as Bruce Jenner would make a cameo appearance in the Emmy-nominated jail bird drama.
The ex-Olympian is reportedly being rooted to take on the role of a love interest for Sophia (Laverne Cox), who, like Jenner, is also a transgender in real life. Speculations were widespread saying that the latter will likely to be a shoulder to cry on for Sophia who got bullied a lot and was abandoned by her pals in prison.
But according to the report from ScreenRant.com, the streaming network service has no plan for such casting deals. SR claimed to have reached out to one of the company's representatives who simply said that "it isn't true."
These casting rumors are highly expected as the filming for the show's Season 4 is already underway. However, there are casting reports which the publication can claim to be legitimate.
Citing the announcement made by Netflix, the website said that OINTB has picked up three additional new male characters for the upcoming instalment. The names mentioned are "Pacific Rim" actor Brad William Henke, and Mike Houston from "The Drop." The two are cast to portray the roles of new prison guards.
The third actor in question is "Get Smart" star Kelly Karbacz who, according to SR, will be portraying the role of an admin officer at Litchfield Penitentiary.
"Orange is the New Black" Season 4 is slated to return to Netflix in June 2016. Seasons 1, 2, and 3 of the show are, for the meantime, available for viewing. Stay tuned for more updates.
