Orange is the New Black Season 4 Release Date, Plot News: Will Piper and Alex Renew Relationship?
Summer of 2016 maybe quite a way away for fans of the Netflix comedy drama series "Orange is the New Black." That will be the time when Season 4 of "OITNB" will be released, after its third season on the streaming service, although no exact date has announced yet. While fans are eagerly anticipating the multi-awarded show, reports are already circulating about what the next season will bring and how it will treat Litchfield inmates.
According to a report in Melty, the two main cast members of the show Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon spoke with Speakeasy and shared some interesting details about their characters and what would happen to them in the next season. Schilling plays Piper Chapman while Prepon plays Alex Vause, who are both inmates of Litchfield prison, and who are entangled criminally and emotionally.
The first piece of news that Prepon confirmed is that her character is coming back, despite the fact that in the season finale of season 3, she was last seen caught in a life and death situation with a henchman of a notorious drug lord.

"It's really fun where Piper is right now," said Schilling.
Prepon on the other hand said that Alex will have a hand in snapping Piper out of her funk, so to speak.
"She sees through all of Piper's BS. And that's why they're such a cool relationship. And I think that Alex knows that she's putting it on – it's not really her."
Schilling also said something about how Piper will try to handle the pressure.
"I think she's really going to keep scrambling to keep her sense of self intact. When it feels like it's bottoming out, that's when you try harder to control things."
Given these revelations, there is speculation that the two main characters may be getting back together or at least may get closer again in the coming season.
"You can't control where your heart goes. Alex and Piper will always have a connection, and I definitely think that if Alex needed her or she needed Alex, they would be there for each other completely," said Schilling.
Filming for season 4 is currently ongoing. Aside from the plot details about Piper and Alex, fans can also look forward to new cast members joining the fray. So far, only Jolene Purdy has been confirmed, and it is not yet known whether she is joining as an inmate or another character.
