'Orphan Black' Season 4 News, Update: First Teaser Trailer Debuts For New Season

There'd still be about four months before the hit science fiction drama TV series from BBC America, "Orphan Black," returns to the small screen for its brand new fourth season. To quench the thirst of the anticipating fans, the network released the first teaser trailer for the latest installment of the Tatiana Maslany-led drama.

The video, which can be seen below, is rather short and has failed to offer a substantial amount of detail as for what the season will be about. If anything, it's worth noting that the closeup shot of a bionic camera eye could belong to one of the clones. But which clone has it, viewers will have to wait to find out.

Regardless of which, series co-creator John Fawcett told Variety in his June interview that he wanted the show to go back to the beginning.

"I want from season four a vibe of season one again," Fawcett was quoted as saying. "I want a lot of that paranoia back, and Sarah following a first-person mystery, and a feeling of not knowing where we stand again, and having the audience not know where we stand."

The executive producer went on to add that it's their intention for Season 4 to be a reset after the previous installment and offer it with a "big emotional ending."

TVLine cited the network's official synopsis of the new season and it revealed Sarah's return from her Icelandic hideout. Her goal is to track down an "elusive and mysterious" ally who, as she finds out, is connected to Beth Childs - the clone Sarah's looking for.

The summary hinted that Sarah will be following Beth closely. Her path will eventually lead her to cross paths with a new adversary.

With so many things on her plate including the concern to protect the sisterhood, the synopsis said that Sarah's old habits will resurface.

"Orphan Black" Season 4 is slated to premiere in April 2016.
