Awww! Orphaned Bear Cub Explores Outdoor Playroom
A rescued sun bear that was orphaned by poachers has been situated in a new recreational environment, courtesy of an Asia-based animal rights group.
Murphy, as the adorable bear is called, joyously plays about his new place, which bears (no pun intended) a strong resemblance to a child's playground.
According to Animals Asia, Murphy was initially destined for a far less pleasant fate following the death of his mother.
"Murphy lost his mother as a cub and was sold by the hunter who killed her — and was destined to fall victim to the live animal trade — until he was rescued by Vietnam's Forest Protection Department," noted Animals Asia in a YouTube video description.
"He arrived whimpering, sad and lost. At six weeks old when he arrived, Murphy became the youngest bear at Animals Asia's Vietnam sanctuary — the youngest sun bear the team would ever raise."
Eventually the furry creature comes out of his shell and energetically explores his new play space.
Uploaded to YouTube by Animals Asia on Nov. 1, the video has garnered, as of Tuesday, over 158,000 views, more than 150 likes and zero dislikes. Appreciation for this little bear is obviously unanimous.
