Oscar Nominations 2012: Which Films to Watch Out For (PRINTABLE Ballot)

The 2012 Academy Awards will air Sunday night at 8 pm. Here is a breakdown of which films have been nominated and which one is projected to do best.

For George Clooney fans, the first Oscar nominee is The Descendants. Starring Clooney and Shailene Woodley, the film is about a relationship struggle between Clooney, his wife, and his two daughters after his wife ends up in the hospital.

"Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" is up next starring Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock. The movie begins when Oskar Schell, played by Thomas horn, discovers a key left by his father who died in the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. The eclectic boy spends the movie trying to find the lock to match the key. Other movies nominated include "Hugo" the story about an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station and "War Horse" which tells the story of a boy who joins World War I after his horse is sold to the cavalry.

"The Help" stars Emma Stone and Viola Davis as the two attempt to write a book during the time of segregation in the South. "Midnight in Paris" stars Owen Wilson and Rachel McAdams. The movie is about a trip to France, which turns into a flashback in time for Owen Wilson as he relives the times of classic writers like Scott F. Fitzgerald and Ernest Hemingway.

Two movies starring Brad Pitt have Oscar nominations. The first is "Moneyball" which tells the story of a baseball manager's attempt to put a baseball team back on budget by using a computer's help to draft players. "The Tree of Life" has also received a nomination. Also starring Sean Penn, the movie reveals a boy's loss of innocence during the 1950's.

"The Artist", staring Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo, is the projected winner. The silent film tells the tale of a silent film star's fears as talking pictures arrive on the big screen.
