'Osomatsu-san' Season 2 Episode 2 Spoilers: The Matsuno Brothers Are Back to Their Old Ways in 'Super Detergent'

The Matsuno sextuplets are back in the sophomore season of the Japanese comedy anime series, "Osomatsu-san (Mr. Osomatsu)." But is the overall narrative of the series based on the classic 1962 manga series by Fujio Akatsuka about to change?

This seems like the case when the premiere episode of season 2 begins with a black-and-white animation showing the Matsuno sextuplets as their younger selves. The eldest, Osomatsu, has just called an emergency meeting to discuss the continuation of the series featuring their lives.

However, Choromatsu expressed his worry over whether or not anybody even remembered them since season 1 ended more than a year ago. Wanting to check up on their future selves, the sextuplets open their television and discovered that the fame they got after their show became popular has gone into their heads and turned them into fat and greedy versions of themselves.

It was because of this revelation that they vowed to change the future by making every effort possible to turn into proper adults. That was an ambition that soon proved to be futile since they still ended up the same old Matsuno sextuplets from season 1 — six brothers who absolutely have no idea what they would like to do with their lives and seem to be quite content about not having a future beyond the next episode to look forward to.

Will they finally be able to find something significant to do with their lives as the series moves on to episode 2, titled "Super Detergent"? Could the second season be the beginning of their journey towards changing their NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) lifestyle, or will this be another season that ends m much the same way as the last?

"Osomatsu-san" airs on Mondays late night at 1:35 a.m. JST on TV Tokyo and TV Aichi. It also airs on TV Osaka on Tuesdays late night at 2:05 a.m. JST and on AT-X on Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. JST. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes will also be streamed in regions outside Japan via Viz.com and Crunchyroll.
