'Outlander' season 2 spoilers: Jamie and Claire move to Paris

The freshmen run of the sensational series "Outlander" ended with a jaw-dropping shocker and possibly the most controversial event on television.

Claire (Caitriona Balfe) managed to save Jamie (Sam Heughan) from Wentworth prison with a herd of cattle, where he was found naked and immobile on the floor. The reunion of the two became slightly awkward as poor Jamie was suffering from delusions while he was recuperating, wanting to end his life.

As it turns out, Jamie was brutally raped by Randall (Tobias Menzies) and was branded. Claire threatened to kill herself, too. Jamie then removed the brand from his skin and burned it. The duo then decided to move to Paris, while Claire discovered that she is pregnant with Jamie's child.

In the brand-new season, the couple moves to Paris in hopes of finding a better life. Unfortunately, they will run into more problems as life becomes difficult for them. Jamie will find himself in between two royal politicians, while Claire struggles to help Jamie deal with his trauma and her difficult pregnancy at the same time. The couple will also attempt to stop a rebellion from happening. The trauma that Jamie experienced will still be explored as he will be forever haunted by it.

The upcoming season has begun filming in Prague. Photos from the set clearly show a different vibe and brighter colors. Gone are the drab earth colors of the previous season. The show will definitely look brighter, but the prevalent theme will remain dark.

Executive producer Ronald D. Moore spoke about the upcoming season. "Well, how the opening episode literally opens I won't get into, obviously, because that's just how we tell the story, but the story of Jamie and Claire in the 18th century pretty much starts with their arrival in France. The big story point picks up from where we left season 1, which is Claire and Jamie deciding to attempt to change history by stopping the Jacobite rebellion and changing history so as to prevent the slaughter on Culloden Moor and the destruction of the Highland culture after it. That's the major plot going into the season," he said.

Moore also stated that the show will look visually different since it has moved to a different location that is more urban.

The new season will not air until some time next year.
