'Outlander' Season 3 Episode 3 Spoilers: Lord John Grey Arrives
This week's episode of "Outlander" season 3 will mark the long-awaited entrance of Lord John Grey played by actor David Berry.
The character is a favorite in the "Outlander" books by Diana Gabaldon and is set to change the course of the time travel drama when he arrives.
Lord John Grey is an old foe of Jamie (Sam Heughan). In a sneak peek for "Outlander" season 3, episode 3, "All Debts Paid," he manifests no shock or surprise upon learning that his nemesis is back behind barns and has earned some notoriety, owing to him having witnessed what The Dunbonnet, as he is being referred to, is capable of.
Jamie ends up in the prison where Lord John Grey is a warden. In the promo for the upcoming installment, he uses this as leverage to get Jamie to do what he wants.
The war-torn hero is the only one in the prison with iron chains and Lord John Grey is prepared to grant him freedom from these shackles should he do what he says.
The "Outlander" season 3, episode 3 promo suggests that he may have obliged, but he made sure Lord John Grey knew he is not in the least bit happy.
This week's installment will also see Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Frank's (Tobias Menzies) marriage continue to fall apart as the latter believes that the time has come to smash their portrait as a happy married couple.
Menzies recently teased to Entertainment Weekly that around the 1960s, "Outlander" viewers will see the two further drift apart as Brianna (Sophie Skelton) grows up. The actor explained:
They start to live quite separate lives. They cobble together a relationship that kind of works for the child. It goes through disappointment and rage, and then it sort of settles into something a lot more kind of friendly and a kind of resigned.
Things are not looking good for both Claire and Jamie in "Outlander" season 3, episode 3, but fans can find comfort in knowing that all this will lead to the star-crossed lovers to find their way to each other's arms.
"Outlander" season 3, episode 3, "All Debts Paid," airs Sunday, Sept. 24, at 8 p.m. ET on Starz.
