'Outlander' Season 3: Cast and Crew Film in South Africa
The "Outlander" cast and crew are knee-deep into the season 3 production. For the next phase of the filming, the team is off to the beautiful land of South Africa.
Lead stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are already there and were even spotted hanging out at a mall, where some fans asked for a picture with them.
Cesar Domboy, who will be introduced in "Outlander" season 3 as the older version of Fergus, and Lauren Lyle, who will play the role of Marsali, also touched down South Africa and even took to social media to update fans.
Despite Domboy's inclusion in "Outlander" season 3, Romann Berrux, who played the young version of the pickpocket that Claire (Balfe) and Jamie (Heughan) took under their wing, will also appear this season. As for Lyle's character, fans of Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" books, on which the Starz hit is based, would know that this character's importance will grow over the course of the story. This is why there is a huge excitement surrounding her arrival in "Outlander" season 3.
"Outlander" executive producer Matthew B. Roberts has also been scouting locations for season 3 when they came across a cobra. The EP has been sharing photos on Twitter as well as they traverse Cape Town.
Production for "Outlander" season 3 has been going on for a while. As revealed by Starz, the series will not be back until September. This makes it the longest "droughtlander" for the devoted fans of the time travel drama.
"Outlander" season 3 will see Jamie and Claire adjust to a life without each other. The former will take part in the Battle of Culloden while the latter lives a married life with Frank (Tobias Menzies).
The two will, of course, find their way back into each other's arms sometime in the season and fans of the book are promised a loyal adaptation of their reunion scene.
"Outlander" season 3 will premiere this September on Starz.
