'Outlander' Season 3 Spoilers: Show Goes on One-Week Hiatus in Anticipation for Jamie and Claire's Reunion
Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie's (Sam Heughan) long-awaited reunion will not happen on "Outlander" season 3 this week.
Starz is instead airing a marathon of the first five episodes, giving fans the chance to catch up before the star-crossed lovers finally return to each other's arms.
"Outlander" season 3, episode 6 titled "A. Malcolm," will mark most anticipated moment for the season. It was set up in the previous installment where Jamie became unconscious at the sight of the love of his life.
In the upcoming episode, the two will finally "rekindle" their relationship in the print shop scene, which is a very important moment in Diana Gabaldon's third "Outlander" book, "Voyager."
The team behind the show has been teasing this moment even before the show premiered. Fans are hoping that it will be translated for the small screen accurately and honestly, which is what the executive producers of the series promise and more.
Executive producer Matthew B. Roberts teased to Entertainment Weekly:
It's not just Claire's story. It's Jamie and Claire's story. So, we wanted to show both perspectives. In the book, you get it from Claire's view. She comes in the print shop. It's really kind of told from her POV. I wanted to give Jamie's POV of the same moment. I wanted to also give the fans the moment twice. They've been waiting for it for a long time! So, rather give it to them one time, you give them something they don't exactly expect.
In a recent interview with E! News, Heughan teased that Jamie and Claire will feel like teenagers again in "Outlander" season 3, episode 6 as they "rediscover that bond, that attraction, that love for each other."
However, the actor teases that since they have not seen each other for a while, it also becomes "awkward." Of course, as revealed in the past, they will be passionately making love to each other.
Fans will see it all unfold on "Outlander" season 3, episode 6, "A. Malcolm" airing Sunday, Oct. 22, at 8 p.m. ET on Starz.
