'Overwatch' Season 3: End Date Set for Last Week of February
Fans of "Overwatch," the team-based multiplayer first-person shooter video game by Blizzard Entertainment, have more than a week to work on their rankings, as season 3 is reportedly coming to an end.
According to iDigital Times, the current installment of the game will likely end on Feb. 21, between 2 to 6 p.m. EST. This is allegedly based on what director Jeff Kaplan mentioned during the recent "Overwatch" forum. Although he did not give the exact date, he said that the season usually ends about a week before the start of the month. In season 1, the end date was Aug. 18 while season 2 concluded on Nov. 23. Based on the schedule, season 3, which started last December, is set to end in the last week of February.
Meanwhile, Express posits that the end date will be on Feb. 22. This will reportedly give the developer roughly seven days to prepare for season 4. As expected with the start of a new installment, there are going to be changes. In the final week of season 2, Blizzard launched the Off Season. This, they said, was a chance for players to experiment on new combinations and strategies without worrying about their ranks. This will likely happen this February as well. Kaplan said that they would soon release a statement regarding the matter.

"We're working on a blog right now. We'll let you know ASAP the exact date of the season end as well as changes coming for Season 4. Usually, seasons end one week before the start of the month -- so roughly expect the same here," the director said.
Previously, Blizzard released the patch notes for the latest Public Test Realm update, with Xbox One and PS4 players to get them soon. Several changes have reportedly been made to two popular characters - Winston and Roadhog - as both have been rebalanced. Gamers will be glad to learn that Winston's head will not be as big, while Roadhog will be able to use his gun more effectively when his hook is not in use.
