P.O.D. Creates Opportunity For Fans to Get Involved
Christian rap/metal superstars P.O.D. are looking to give themselves a makeover as they build momentum toward their 2012 release by letting fans create the band's new logo.
All designs for the contest are to be submitted at TalentHouse.com before the deadline of Jan. 3, 2012.
The contest winner’s logo will be used for all of P.O.D.'s official merchandise and press materials. The winner will also receive a prize package of VIP tickets to a concert closest to where the viewer lives – complete with a meet and greet with the band, a $500 cash prize, and the logo on all the band's social media profiles.
P.O.D. will select a runner-up and have that person's design displayed on their Facebook page and will receive a ticket to a show in their hometown.
Lastly, the fans will have a chance to vote a winner. The design with the most fan votes will also be displayed on the band’s Facebook page, and that person will receive tickets to a P.O.D. show in his hometown.
Voting will take place a day after submissions end on Jan. 4 through Jan. 10, with the winners to be announced on Jan. 25.
At the moment, P.O.D., short for Payable On Death, is working on their eighth studio album set for release in early 2012.
The band has sold over 10 million records and has received three Grammy nominations.
Starting in the early 90s, the band didn't achieve break through success until 1999's The Fundamental Elements of Southtown, which earned them a platinum record and was followed by the even more successful album Satellite in 2001.
Since then the band has tailed off a bit in the last few years changing their style up from their traditional hardcore rap-rock and mixing in more nu-metal and reggae stylized songs, as the music industry began changing.
Their last release was When Angels & Serpents Dance in 2008, and they are looking to comeback with a big splash.
