Palin Big Gulp Speech: DC Politicians a Bad Reality Show? (VIDEO)
Sarah Palin delivered a well-received speech Saturday on the final day of the Conservative Political Action Conference outside Washington, D.C. using humor to woo her crowd.
Speaking to a room of Republicans, the former Alaskan governor went from being the butt of the joke to being the joker on Saturday. "We're cool," said Palin sipping from a Big-Gulp soda while addressing New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's ban on sugary drinks.
"Bloomberg is not around, our big gulps are safe," she joked. "Shoot, it's just pop with low-cal ice-cubes in it."

Other Republican political figures also took the stage including Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, but all seemed to lack Palin's humor, which was mixed with her criticism of the president.
"He is considered a good politician," the former vice presidential nominee said, referring to Obama. "Which is like saying Bernie Madoff was a good salesmen. The difference being, the president is using our money."
She advised the president to "step away from the teleprompter and do your job."
Palin suggested that there were a number of issues facing D.C. at the moment, and that politicians weren't stepping up to the plate in the way that they should be.
"Never before have our challenges been so big and our leaders so small," she reflected. Things have gotten so unbelievable according to Palin, some politicians may be headed for an audition on "The Hills."
"We don't have leadership coming out of Washington, we have reality television," she quipped.
Also taking a stance on gun control and the increased background checks proposed by the Obama administration, she stated that it was the president who should have had the first background check.
"Background checks? Yeah, I guess to learn more about a person's thinking and associations and intentions. More background checks?" Palin said. "Dandy idea, Mr. President - should have started with yours."
