Palin Decries 'GOP Cannibals' - Gingrich Attacks Unfair
Sarah Palin has said that the GOP establishment consists of "cannibals" who have adopted the "politics of personal destruction" to defend their "chosen one."
Palin posted the attack on her Facebook page. It appears her comments come following the nature of the GOP debates in Florida, which has seen GOP candidates attack one another with the ferocity often reserved for Democratic rivals.
In particular the attacks against Newt Gingrich in Florida have seen Palin suggest that the Republican Party is undergoing a major shift.
Palin believes that the current battle is not just about Romney vs. Gingrich, as the media often makes out, but is more establishment vs. grass roots and independents. She wrote, after all "the establishment has been just as dismissive of Ron Paul and Rick Santorum."
She suggests that the challenge is not simply one against Democrats, or who will beat President Obama, but "who and what we will replace him with."
Palin poses the question "whether the GOP establishment would ever employ the same harsh tactics they used on Newt against Obama. I didn't see it in 2008."
"So, one must ask, who are they really running against?" Palin asks.
