Parents of Children Murdered by Nanny Expecting Baby Boy
The parents of two children who were stabbed to death by their nanny announced that they are expecting another child. Marina and Kevin Krim made the announcement via their Facebook page and expressed their great joy and excitement.
"We are very happy to let you know that Marina is expecting a baby in the fall. Nessie can't wait to welcome her new baby brother. We are filled with many emotions as we look to the future, but the most important one is hope," the family posted.
Marina returned home with daughter Nessie to find the bodies of her son Leo, 2, and daughter, Lulu, 6. They had been stabbed to death by their nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, 50, who is charged with their murder. She attempted to take her own life by cutting herself but was rescued by paramedics.
Ortega has only been inside the courtroom once since the ordeal in October, as lawyers stated that they need more information about her psychiatric state and whether she is fit to stand trial. However, last month, a judge found her psychologically competent, and she was back in court on May 6.
The Krim family moved immediately after the murders and reportedly did not even return to the apartment. They have established the Leo and Lulu Fund, which raises funds for arts education. Leo and Lulu apparently loved to draw and a lot of their artwork has been posted on the Facebook page for all to see.
After announcing the news of a new baby, friends, family, and complete strangers wished the Krims well and encouraged them in their futures.
"This is wonderful news! My heart filled with joy and my eyes filled with tears (of joy) the second I read this! I prayed for this for your family… That it would happen when you were ready. This baby is being born into a world with people everywhere already in love with him!" posted Maggie Haag.
Over 800 people have expressed their congratulations and prayers for the family as they celebrate their good news.
