Pastor Ed Young to Host Dog Adoptions at Fellowship Church
Pastor Ed Young of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas, known for his creative sermon series, will be hosting a "Dog Days" event that will feature pet adoptions on the last weekend of April.
"At Fellowship Church, we love dogs! And we know there is a special bond between people and their pets. My wife and I have several dogs of our own. We love animals. We are excited about partnering with people and who share God's standard and respect for animals. And we're excited to invite the entire community to bring their dogs to church this weekend," Young said.
The annual "Dog Days" event will take place on the weekend of April 27 and 28, when Fellowship Church will partner with local pet adoption organizations, aiming to find homes for animals in need.

Last year for his Easter sermon, Young hosted the "Wild" series, aimed at simplifying biblical truths in ways that relate to the audience. The Texas pastor used a live lion and lamb to provide a visual example for the characteristics and personality of Christ. The animal-focused series also featured frogs, camels and other animals.
"We simply take a page out of Jesus' playbook. He constantly used illustrations, real-life examples to creatively communicate his message to his audience. What we do is use that same method to reach the people in our communities with the message of Jesus," Young previously said.
The "Wild" series attracted some controversy when local television news station WFAA reported that several people had suggested that the animals used in the demonstrations were not treated properly, such as the lion being placed in a small cage.
Young denied any such accusations, however, insisting that all proper care was taken when using the animals.
"We have never been denied a permit. We called prior to the Easter services, but there was not a permitting process in place. After the Easter services, we have been working with the city to help them in this process," the Fellowship pastor said. "When you are doing great, people hate."
