Patrick Morley's 'Man in the Mirror' Ministry Planning to Disciple 1,000,000 Men by 2015
Man in the Mirror, the popular Florida non-profit men-only ministry under the leadership of charismatic evangelist and author Dr. Patrick Morley, announced this week that it will hire 330 ministers in a national effort to form 1,000,000 male disciples by 2015; and 10,000,000 by the end of 2020.
The 20-year-old ministry said it is looking to hire 330 full-time "area directors" who would disciple the men at their locations throughout the United States. The "casting" for the 330 positions opened nationwide Tuesday, and is being organized in cooperation with Young Life, a non-denominational Christian youth ministry, and three evangelical non-profits, Campus Crusade for Christ International, Compass – Finances God's Way, and The Navigators. Candidates across the country were invited to apply via an online address.
Morley is the author of a 1989 book, The Man in the Mirror, which gave birth to the ministry by the same name, founded in 1991. The theologian started by teaching a weekly men's Bible study in Orlando, Fla., 25 years ago. The group has since grown to include more than 5,000 men worldwide. Morley has written a total of 18 books, including the soon-to-be released Man Alive.

"The ministry of Man in the Mirror exists in answer to the prayers of all those wives, mothers, and grandmothers who have for decades been praying for the men in their lives," Morley stated on the ministry's website.
The disciple initiative, or as the ministry calls it, "leadership training," is called "No Man Left Behind." Morley claims men across the country feel the need to disciple, but lack the training. The program is to fill that gap. Each area director can help some 1,000 men a year to become disciples, Morely said in his video statement.
"We have a significant men problem in culture today," Morley said in the statement. "You can hear about it on CNN, read about it in The New York Times or watch the distraction it creates on Dr. Phil. Men have become one of our largest neglected people groups."
The ministry claims that churches that implement Man in the Mirror's "No Man Left Behind" model have shown an average 48 percent increase in the number of men attending their church and an 84 percent increase in the number of men involved in discipleship during a two-and-a-half year period.
"For several years, we've been working hard to offer men a viable career path in men's ministry," Morley explained in a statement. "This is our attempt at putting boots on the ground to consult, train and equip churches to be more effective at discipling their guys."
"I'm so thankful that 40 years ago, a few men in my church saw a young man who desperately needed to be discipled, and they took action. Every man deserves an opportunity to learn how he can become the man God created him to be," he added.
The ministry has several locations in the United States and internationally.
