Patton Oswalt and Meredith Salenger Tie the Knot, Share Happy Photos on Social Media
Patton Oswalt and Meredith Salenger said their "I do's" in a private ceremony on Saturday that was held at the Jim Henson Company Lot in Hollywood. Shortly after the wedding, the newlyweds happily shared photos of their memorable day on social media.
Sources said the wedding, which was a Jewish ceremony, lasted for about 15 minutes and was officiated by a female friend, according to E! News. While the couple's social media photos showed joyful faces, the report added that emotions were overflowing during the event, with Salenger on the verge of happy tears the entire time.
In true Jewish tradition, the ceremony reportedly concluded with Oswalt breaking a glass as their guests said in chorus: "Mazel Tov." The wedding was also attended by their friends from Hollywood, including Ever Carradine, Martha Plimpton and Questlove.
The E! News source shared that the reception featured "long farmhouse tables for a family style dinner" with "white twinkle lights strung across the ceiling." Meanwhile, insiders added that the newlyweds looked "blissfully happy and in love" as guests came up to them to personally congratulate them on their wedding day.
Oswalt was married to Michelle McNamara for 11 years before the latter's tragic and sudden death in 2016. The "Young Adult" actor faced criticisms after announcing he was engaged to Salenger a little over a year from when his first wife died.
A blogger named Erica Roman, who lost her spouse just days before McNamara passed away, dedicated a blog post to defend the funny actor from the scrutiny of online users who called him out for allegedly moving on too quickly with Salenger.
Oswalt and Salenger had confirmed their engagement in early July. They first used a funny photo of the couple and a photoshopped image of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson over Salenger's finger where an engagement ring would be.
She then later shared a collage of her wearing her real engagement ring with photos of her and Oswalt, the proposal message, and with Alice, Oswalt's 8-year-old daughter with McNamara.
