Paul Walker Funeral to Be A Private, Family Affair With 'Fast & Furious' Cast
Paul Walker's body was released to Forest Lawn Mortuaries by the Los Angeles County coroner's office on Tuesday and his family is currently making funeral arrangements.
Walker's funeral will be kept private for his family members, but his "Fast and Furious" costars will reportedly attend the ceremony, according to TMZ.
The "Fast & Furious" star and his friend Roger Rodas were killed when the Porsche Carrera GT they were traveling in crashed and caught fire.
The autopsy report formally identified Walker, 40, as the passenger, and Rodas, 38, as the driver. The report, which listed the incident as an accident, stated that Rodas died of "multiple traumatic injuries" and Walker of "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries."
A toxicology report is still pending for both men and should be completed in the coming weeks, according to the Los Angeles Times.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department insisted that speed was a factor in the one-car crash in the community of Valencia.
Walker's family decided to have his funeral be invitation-only for his daughter Meadow's sake.
"She has family around her and some very, very loving friends. They're all close. There's a lot of hugging, a lot of hand-holding," a source close to the family told TMZ.
Walker is survived by his father, mother, four siblings and 15-year-old daughter, Meadow.
Walker was on a break from filming the seventh film in the series and Universal Pictures announced it was shutting down production on the latest sequel.
"At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on 'Fast & Furious 7' for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping 'Fast & Furious' fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker," the studio said in a statement.
