Paul Wesley and Torrey Devitto Break Up, 'Vampire Diaries' Stars Married 2 Years
Paul Wesley and Torrey DeVitto announced that they are divorcing after two years of marriage on Tuesday.
The spouses met on the set of "Killer Movie" in 2007 before marrying in 2011, and both actors star on The CW's hit television series "The Vampire Diaries."
Nevertheless, Wesley and Devitto "have decided to amicably split," said a rep for the actors, according to People.com.
"They will continue to be good friends," the rep added.
Last year, 31-year-old Wesley gushed over working on set alongside his wife at the time.
"It's fantastic because otherwise we'd be 2000 miles away, Los Angeles and Georgia, so it's very nice to be in the same geographical location," he explained.
"Pretty Little Liars" is a teen mystery-thriller drama based on the popular books written by Sara Shepard. ABC Family's show will enter its fourth season next summer, and has inspired a spin-off series "Ravenswood" which will air this October.
Following their divorce, Wesley and DeVitto are expected to move forward in their respective acting careers.
For instance, 29-year-old DeVitto also has a recurring role on the television series "Pretty Little Liars" as well as Lifetime's "Army Wives."
Making her debut on "Army Wives" last March, DeVitto divulged that the role of Maggie provided a welcomed change from her previous villainous roles on shows such as "Pretty Little Liars."
"I kept telling my manager that I really wanted the next thing I did to be for a more mature audience," the actress told Entertainment Tonight. "Something where I could play more my age. Then I got offered this part, which is not only for a more mature audience, but also gives me a1 2-year-old and a 14-year-old stepchild. I was like, ask and ye shall receive."
