Paula Patton may be opening up about her separation from Robin Thicke on Instagram.
Robin Thicke, the 36-year-old singer, and Patton, the 38-year-old actress announced their split Monday after 8 years of marriage and more than 20 years together. However, Thicke is publicly insisting that he is not walking away easily.
"Everything happens for a reason," Patton posted on her Instagram in a series of picture messages. "If you love something let it go, if it comes back it's yours, if it doesn't, it was and it's not meant to be."

The announcement of the pair's split came on Monday, when the couple that has been married since 2005 said they would remain friends.
"We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time," the joint statement reads, according to People magazine.
Sources close to the couple told TMZ that Thicke is also concerned for their son, Julian.
"Robin is really concerned about their son, Julian Fuego, 3," a source said, according to TMZ. "He does not want him raised in two separate homes."
The singer took to his personal website to thank his fans for supporting him during the turbulent times.
"I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days," Thicke wrote. "My fans mean everything to me. I'm looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington DC this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!"
Thicke made it clear that he isn't giving up on his marriage without a fight.
"I'm just trying to get her back, man," he told TMZ Thursday.
The singer became emotional while performing in Washington D.C. recently and got candid about his marital issues.
"For those who don't know, my wife and I separated a few days ago. Yeah… I want everyone in here to know that I'm trying to get my girl back," he told the crowd. "You know, she told me you should go out there and tell the truth. You should tell them that you are trying to get her back. She's a good woman, you know."through it.
