'Peaky Blinders' Season 4 Air Date, Teaser: See Adrien Brody, Aiden Gillen as the Shelby Brothers New Enemies
A new teaser for the upcoming season of "Peaky Blinders" just dropped. It has Oscar winner Adrien Brody and "Game of Thrones" villain Aiden Gillen gracing the gangster drama for the first time.
The minute-long teaser hints that Brody and Gillen's characters are the Shelby brothers' new enemies. "Peaking Blinders" season 4 will open with Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) packing up his bags and leaving his mansion in the country with his young son as a new threat looms.
Tommy heads back home to Birmingham where he rounds up his gang as they fight for survival. It remains to be seen how he will fare when season 3 ended with the police nabbing his brothers Arthur (Paul Anderson) and John Shelby (Joe Cole) and his Aunt Polly (Helen McCrory) following a deal that Tommy made with the authorities.
"Peaky Blinders" season 4 will follow the Shelby brothers and their family members six months after that fateful day of arrests.
"This season is a sort of a return to the roots," Murphy shared. "That's about as much as I can reveal."
Brody and Gillen's characters' names have not been revealed but "Peaky Blinders" creator Steven Knight described them as the biggest threats to the gangster family since the show began. Tom Hardy will also be back to reprise his role as Alfie Solomons, the gang's ally.
BBC renewed "Peaky Blinders" for season 4 and 5 back in 2016. The show also streams on Netflix for U.S. viewers.
"The prospect of writing series four and five is truly exciting," Knight stated when the show received a renewal. "This is a real passion project for me and I look forward to telling more stories of the Shelby family."
"Peaky Blinders" is a dramatic retelling of a real-life gangster family that operated in England after World War I. BBC, however, has yet to confirm the premiere date of season 4.
