Pep Guardiola to Quit Barcelona: Announcement Due Friday
Pep Guardiola is reportedly preparing to step down as manager of Barcelona. According to various media reports he has told the Catalan club that he cannot carry on.
Guardiola is arguably the most successful soccer manager in the world over the past five years, leading Spain's Barcelona to the European Champions League trophy in two of the past three years.
He has been praised for instilling among his players a style of soccer as fans want to see it played. During his reign Barcelona have become widely recognized as the best team in the world; completely dominating other top teams repeatedly when coming up against them in competition.
It is believed that the 41-year-old manager will make an official announcement regarding his future at Barcelona's Nou Camp on Friday afternoon. However, unless there is a sudden last-minute change of heart, soccer fans can expect him to confirm his departure from the current Spanish champions.
Guardiola has already arranged to meet with his players in Friday morning, in what many are touting as a final farewell to his team that has served him so well over the past few years.
It is unclear what his destination may be if he does depart Barcelona, but what is for is the Spanish giants will find it near impossible to fill his position to continue his legacy.
