'Person of Interest' Season 5 Spoilers, Cast News: Petition to Keep the Show Going Is Growing

"Person of Interest" is soon premiering its 5th season. However, unlike other seasons before, it only received an order of 13 episodes for its fifth year. If previous shows are to be basis, it isn't a good sign that CBS made this decision, since it could mean that the network is only giving the series a chance to close its story line before it gets canceled. However, it seems that fans are more than eager to fight to keep the show.

According to MStarz, Kaily Russell of Sonoma, CA recently started a petiton on Change.Org to keep the show going on air. The petition comes with a sincere letter to CBS, Warner Brothers, and Netflix, expressing heartfelt desire to see their favorite show going forward with a full season. Russell stated, "We feel that Person of Interest deserve[s] more then 13 episodes for season 5. But also that we don't want to see this series end. If it is on it's last leg, we'd like to see another network or even Netflix pick it up. Just don't let it die." As of now, the petition has already passed its 7,500 signature mark and is attempting to reach 10,000. Russell has admittedly been tempted to close the petition as many other shows with more signatures have not been successful in the endeavor. However, she chose to remain optimistic that more signatures will come and can postively change the minds of studios and online streaming companies.

Recently, executive producer Greg Plageman shared what events could be waiting for Harold Finch. He goes, "I think we'd like to explore particularly this season is, what happens when someone, you know, is able to transfer some of that burden to others, but also when something so dramatic happens that there may become a shift in the character that we haven't seen before."
