'Persona 5' Release Date: Game Director Katsura Hashino Reveals Reason for Postponed Release
The release date for the most awaited "Persona 5" has been delayed once again, but game director Katsura Hashino explained the reason for pushing back the scheduled launch.
"Persona 5" was originally set to be released in the winter of 2014, but it was later on moved to late 2015. However, Atlus announced during the 2015 Tokyo Game Show that the game's release date will once again be moved to Summer 2016, according to Christian Today.
It has already been five years since "Persona 5" began its development stage, so it comes as no surprise that fans are already very eager to get their hands on the game, The Venture Capital Post adds.
In an interview reported by Daily Motion, Katsura Hashino apologized to "Persona 5" fans for the series of delays and explained the reason for the postponement. He explained that although they are already done putting the game together, a bit more time will be required to tune-up the gameplay and make sure that everything runs smoothly according to Atlus' standards, the report relays.
However, the game director confirmed that there is no problem with the process of development. The team is just refining and polishing the details in "Persona 5" to make sure that the final product will be a high-quality game.
In addition, Hashino revealed a new feature of "Persona 5" that fans already saw in the trailer shown during the Tokyo Game Show. The players' new ability to "steal hearts" will be instrumental in the game's story line, he explained.
Meanwhile, the upcoming game will come with new modes including the Cooperation modem which will allow gamers to interact via a social link. The Sneak mode will allow them to go on stealth mode. The Lesson and All-Out Attack features will still be available in "Persona 5' to allow gamers to attack downed players, the report details.
"Persona 5" is a game about a group of students who can communicate with the paranormal world. What makes it unique is that the main cast's characteristic as "good thieves" who are running from antagonists. The characters in the game spend their days being normal high school students and their nights interacting with the paranormal world.
"Persona 5" will be available for PS3 and PS4 in summer 2016.
