'Persona 5': RPG Features Compelling Storyline, More Flexible Dungeon Gameplay and The Velvet Room

With only more than a week left before its official Western release, the Japanese-original role-playing game "Persona 5" has been hyping up the community of both casual and hardcore gamers. Set in the busy, mysterious streets of Tokyo, the newest addition to the acclaimed "Megami Tensei" franchise promises hours of gameplay made more exciting by a compelling narrative.

According to a first impression review by Game Revolution, "Person 5" features a series of mysterious events that will begin the moment the playable character sets foot in Tokyo to begin his first day of school.

The silent protagonist has just been transferred to the fictional Shujin High School and is on probation for assaulting a stalker. Here in this high school, he will meet other people, who, along with him, will eventually awaken their Persona powers. A group of masked vigilantes will thus be formed, with the protagonist at its head. Known as the "Phantom Thieves of Hearts," this group's goal is to change the hearts of adversaries who commit crimes.

The dialogs are very catchy and the verbal exchanges between characters are never dull. The combat system has also been given some depth by allowing the player to barter with enemies who choose to beg for mercy. The dungeon sequences also allow the player to jump from one object to another, hide behind boxes and even use his senses in order to discover hidden objects.

The player can also take the transit system to check out the various destinations inside the game's version of Tokyo, which include arcades, restaurants, cinemas and a convenience store where the player can apply for a part-time job.

And as an additional treat, players will once again be able to visit The Velvet Room, which will allow them to fuse multiple Personas together.

In celebration of the upcoming release of "Person 5," game developer Atlus has just released an unboxing video featuring the title's "Take Your Heart" premium edition, which will sell for $89.99. This edition will include the "Sounds of Rebellion" soundtrack CD, a four-inch Morgana plush, a 64-page hardcover art book titled "The Aesthetics," a SteelBook collectible case for the game disc, a Shujin Academy school bag and a colossal collectible box.

"Person 5" will be released in North America and Europe on April 5. Pre-orders can still be made via the game's official website.
