'Persona 5' update: Game may be launched in Japan this month, will not be released for PC

It looks like Japanese fans of the upcoming role-playing game "Persona 5" will be doing a victory dance as a report says the game will be officially released in Japan this September. According to Cross Map, a new report says that Sony will be launching the game on PS4 and PS3 on Sept. 15 at the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia Press Conference (SCEJAP).

However, just because a release date has been announced for Japan, that doesn't mean that it will also have the same release date with other countries like North America or Europe.

According to Realty Today, developer Atlus has not made any confirmation to the rumored release date yet. People are merely taking hints from the company's Press Relations Team. Some reports say that the game may take some time to be released to other countries after it's launched in Japan.

In one interview with the PR Manager of Atlus USA, John Hardin, he said that they were trying to steer away from making premature announcements. The only thing that he is confirming is that "Persona 5" is slated for a 2015 release date in Europe. But several reports contradict this information and believe that the game will arrive in Europe by 2016.

"I'm working on getting those incorrect listing removed," said Hardin." We are trying to get publishers locked in for our titles in EU and will announce things when they are locked in."

For those gamers who have been hoping to get the PC version of the game, they will have to wait for another time as Hardin confirmed through Twitter that such game version will not be available anytime soon. Even so, one thing is made certain by the company—the long-awaited fifth entry will "take the series to new heights" and bring the same kind of fun and adventure like its predecessors.

"Persona 5" will be centering on the game protagonist's adventures after he transfers to Tokyo's Shujin High School. Players will control the protagonist who has the ability to summon different aspects of his personality which is also called as Personas.
