'PES 2018' Update: Data Pack 1 Now Available, Adding 117 Player Faces and More
"PES 2018," the newest of Konami's "Pro Evolution Soccer" series of games, just got its first Data Pack update just weeks into its launch. The update is surprisingly comprehensive as well, adding hundreds of updated player faces for a start.
The Data Pack 1 update of "PES 2018" is now out for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360, as well as the PC version which can be bought via Steam. It looks to be a hefty pack as well, as Gamespot notes.
The bulk of the update seems to be made up of cosmetic changes, as the biggest bullet point for this patch is the set of new player faces for the roster. There are 117 new faces coming out to players on all teams, and fans of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Romelu Lukaku can get to see their favorite players get more lifelike.
Roster management gets a facelift, as well — quite literally in this case. Over 3,000 players have new photos for their mugshots in team management menus as well.
Moving on from faces, Konami has also added more boots, as seen in actual games. The company has also added Champions League kits, although these were mostly meant for teams like AS Roma or Atletico Madrid.
There's a bunch of new cutscenes for the Master League storyline mode as well. For the next round of update, Konami already hinted that work is well underway for Data Pack 2, which might go out by mid-November.
This update looks to bring "PES 2018" up to par with "FIFA 2018" in terms of presentation, a particular weaker point of the game. That's something to look forward to, since "PES 2018" feels more engaging to play with in general, according to Gamespot.
