Philadelphia Eagles Roster News 2015: A look at the Eagles' line-up changes

The Philadelphia Eagles have made a number of roster shake-ups in the 2015 NFL season alone.

According to reports by Bleeding Green Nation, the Eagles' player signings since the start of the year have varied, to say the least. In January, the team re-signed linebacker Brandon Hepburn, who was part of the practice squad since September 2014. The 25-year old player was already cut from the team then, but was signed back in when fellow linebacker Jake Knott suffered an MCL injury and was eventually waived from the roster.

Throughout the succeeding months, the Eagles continued to sign more players, such as linebacker Brad Jones, running back Kevin Monangai, offensive guard John Moffitt, and wide receiver Mike Johnson.

In September, however, the Eagles also released a number of their players to cut its roster down to the 53-man limit. Names such as Ed Reynolds, Raheem Mostert, Matt Barkley, Chris Prosinski, Malcolm Bunche, Travis Raciti, Brett Boyko, Deontae Skinner, Andrew Gleichert, Julian Vandervelde, Quron Pratt, Rasheed Bailey, Kip Smith, John Moffitt, and Brian Mihalik have all been waived from the roster for various reasons.

As of press time, the Eagles have continued to make a number of roster moves, which have been questioned by some spectators. According to Dave Mangels' report for Bleeding Green Nation, head coach Chip Kelly's decisions on his roster are "being further scrutinized".

First on the list was running back DeMarco Murray, who was signed by the Eagles in March on a five-year, $42 million contract. In Mangels' report, although the 27-year old Murray put in high workload in the previous season, he was described to be showing "effects of overuse", missing games due to injuries and having a low output when he was playing.

Other signings, such as that of Byron Maxwell, Miles Austin, Ryan Matthews, Walter Thurmond, and Kiko Alonso have rendered a satisfactory outcome, so far.
