Phillip Philips Questions Fans Who Voted Because He's 'Cute' (VIDEO)
Phillip Phillips isn't going easy on his female "Idol" fans. Instead the foot is down, modesty is out of the question, and for those of you who voted for a charming "cute" boy, too bad because he's taken and not interested in girls who aren't interested in his music.
There seems to be a bit of confusion storming around most recent"American Idol" winner, Phillip Phillips. There a large number of theories as to why Phillips won the vote, but many have little to do with his talent. While some say it's because he's white or plays the guitar, others say its because he's a man or from the South. Then of course there is the massive crowd that says that Phillips won because he's just so cute.
"Of course they voted for him because they thought he was cute," With Confidence wrote confidently on the People magazine blog. "And his health issues, it sure wasn't his singing. Thanks for the pity votes America."
Well if that's the case, those fans who voted for Phillip Phillips because of his charming modesty and ever so charming grin are devastatingly out of luck. Phillips hasn't been shy about having a girlfriend, but in a new confession, the rising star has claimed that he "loves her to death."
"She is so excited for me," Phillips told People during a conference call Thursday. "She supported me throughout all of this, and I love her to death."
Moreover, it appears that once Phillips is all fixed up after his approaching surgery, he's set to go on tour and doesn't think that he can live without his "supportive" girlfriend by his side.
"I'm hoping maybe she will be able to come on tour with me," he said. "It would be cool to have her there."
As for those fans that voted for a good looking guy, well don't go getting angry about him having a girlfriend or you are no fan at all, according to Phillips.
"If a girl [voted] for me because I'm cute, and then gets mad that I have a girlfriend, then she doesn't really like the music," he said. "I'm not some cute guy who is trying to be successful off that. I really want the music to come first."
Hey now, "that is an arrogant statement," one commentator said. "Sorry to break this to you, but you're not all that cute," Meme added.
