According to organizers of the event, walkers came from the San Francisco and Bay Area neighborhoods, other parts of California, and as far away as Texas, Colorado and Florida.

After the long march ends, the pro-lifers will continue to the Marina Green, a grassy expanse within the sight of the Golden Gate Bridge, where an information fair with resources for women will be set up and where pro-life speakers will address the crow.

Speakers at the rally include: Sally Winn, vice president of Feminists for Life of America; Georgette Forney, chair of the Silent No More Awareness Campaign; and Rev. Clenard Childress of L.E.A.R.N. (Life Education and Resource Network) and Black Genocide.

San Francisco Catholic Archbishop William Levada also joined the speakers to lead walkers along San Francisco's waterfront. Other sponsoring organizations include Presbyterians Pro-Life, Democrats for Life, the California Pro-Life Council, an affiliate of National Right to Life, Priests for Life, and Catholics for the Common Good.
