Pitbull Performs Kodiak, Alaska With Eskimo Backup Dancers (VIDEO)
Pitbull found himself in Kodiak, Alaska putting on a concert alongside the bears after an internet prank tricked the rapper into a remote locale.
Everywhere? Everywhere, Pitbull can finally say. The "International Love" rapper has often boasted about his adventures abroad, but on Monday Pitbull took international to a whole new level by going somewhere that really, not many people have except the town population of just over 6,000.
Pitbull found himself heading to Alaska after a successful prank by comedian David Thorpe. The funnyman seemed to think that it would be rather hilarious to make Pitbull live up to his song lyrics, and rigged a Facebook "like" contest. The rules pledged that the Wal-Mart to receive the most likes would win a concert in their city. After a little help Kodiak, Alaska came out on top.
The rapper described the location as "an icy, bear-infested locale just south of Alaska." But chilly weather did not stop Pitbull from fulfilling his promise in mostly good humor -- especially since just about the whole town showed up to greet him.
The concert was held on a spread of open grass in the midst of trees as concert goers young and old sat on white fold out chairs. The small local vibe was likely a whole new experience, even for "Mr. Worldwide" as the rapper refers to himself.
"It was a big joke to send me out here," Pitbull told the crowd. "But to be honest with you, it's great."
Pitbull also had the help of some very special backup dancers, who joined him on stage in complete Eskimo attire.
"It's very, very beautiful here," the rapper added. "You can think of me at your local Wal-Mart!"
Wal-Mart also posted some pictures of the rapper alongside a large stuffed grizzly inside the store. It seems that all is well that ends well.
