'Pitch Perfect 3' Release Date Rumors: Familiar Faces to Reprise Roles; Official Premiere Date Confirmed

With the success of "Pitch Perfect 2," the third installment is already on its way, and just recently, the premiere schedule has been revealed: August of 2017.

On the official Facebook page of "Pitch Perfect," a post on Sept. 29 reads, "Save the date! #PitchPerfect3 is hitting theaters August 4, 2017." Universal Pictures has since announced that the statement is true, slamming the previous July 21, 2017 release date reported.

Since the previous supposed release date was somehow close to some big films coming from Warner Bros. and other companies, Universal Pictures picked a better date this time so as not to bump Sony's "Spider-Man" that already sees lots of approval from Tom Holland fans.

Director and producer Elizabeth Banks has already confirmed that the third installment is in the works, and while she admitted that the team is hard at work in getting on the right track for what the Barden Bellas will be offering this time around, she said the world-acclaimed a capella group will be singing, dancing, and will give fans a whole bunch of reasons to smile.

Multiple outlets confirmed that Anna Kendrick (Beca), will be back, along with Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy), and Banks herself, who played the role of Gail, the host and commentator in "Pitch Perfect 2."

While the three actresses are sure to get their roles back in the third film, it is rumored that Brittany Snow (Chloe) and Hailee Steinfield (Emily Junk) will also be back to claim their roles in the previous installments.

"Pitch Perfect 3" picks up on the life story of Beca who joined a singing and performing group during her freshman days in college. In the first movie, the girls decided to put all their differences aside to come up with amazing song arrangements that won them the national competition award.

The sequel is reported to have earned a total of $285 million, and while there is little known about the story line of the third part, fans are already looking forward to the next adventure of the Barden Bellas.
