Pitt Slams Aniston Marriage: 'I Got Burnt Out' and 'Was Wasting My Opportunity'
Brad Pitt has slammed his marriage to Jennifer Aniston in his recent interview with Esquire magazine.
However, the Hollywood actor did not slam Aniston herself but rather put the blame for his situation with himself, saying that he became dull to himself in the marriage.
Pitt and Aniston split in 2005 after five years together, and he has previously said that his marriage to Aniston had basically evolved into him "sitting on a couch, holing a joint, hiding out."
However, regarding Aniston herself he has described her as "an incredibly giving, loving and hilarious woman."
Pitt told Esquire: "For a long time I thought I did too much damage-drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I spent years ****ing off. But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity. It was a conscious change. This was about a decade ago. It was an epiphany."
This is not the first time that Pitt has opened up about his former marriage, and in 2011 he spoke to Parade magazine saying, "I spent the '90s trying to hide out, trying to duck the full celebrity cacophony. I started to get sick of myself sitting on a couch, holding a joint, hiding out. It started feeling pathetic. It became very clear to me that I was intent on trying to find a movie about an interesting life, but I wasn't living an interesting life myself. I think that my marriage [to Aniston] had something to do with it. Trying to pretend the marriage was something that it wasn't."
